[Canon] Puella Magi Madoka Magica
[Point in time taken from canon] (This is a tricky one) Right before she becomes the embodiment of hope. So it'd be when she makes her wish, but not while she's SUPAH MADOKA.
[Background]
http://wiki.puella-magi.net/Madoka_Kaname [Personality]
Madoka is described by not only the people in her canon, but the author herself as a “good girl”. She never does anything wrong. She was raised in a loving household with a younger brother, a strong mother, and a doting father. She had really good friends, Sayaka and Hitomi with whom she was close to.
But in such an environment, she didn't really stand out. She wasn't strong like her mother, talented like Hitomi, or athletic like Sayaka. She was just an average good girl. She's not smart, strong, or talented in anything. She's one of those instances where personality doesn't get noticed as much as skill. Because while she has a wonderful personality that can shine in anyone's life, people don't really take the time to get acquainted with her because she really isn't special.
With this, that can make her seem introverted. She comes off as shy and enclosed in her own shell like a turtle. And while she wants to strive to be a strong influential figure just like her mother, she seems lost as if she doesn't really know how to go about it.
Her insecurities can even make her self-sacrificial, putting herself last under the needs of others. Even when it comes to being rescued, she'd rather have others saved before her.
She has a tendency to feel useless when she's not helping people or making any sort of difference around her. She especially felt like that when she had to witness a death of a budding friend and seeing her best friend duke it out to the death with another magical girl. She couldn't do a thing about it since she didn't have any kind of power.
But even though she feels weak at times, she does everything she can to protect her friends. If she can't protect their body, then she'll protect their hearts. She has an extremely large heart and would do anything to fit the world into it so that she could warm it up and make everyone happy. She is very caring and kind. She has hope where people have lost it and tries her best to make everything better even when everything seems at a loss.
She opens her heart up to Homura and is friendly and kind to her in every single time line no matter what the circumstance.
She also makes friends with Mami and is friends with her in every time line.
She also likes cute things and is a “girly girl”. She has a collection of stuffed animals on her bed that she sleeps with at night. She wears her hair in two high pigtails in red ribbons. She dresses in brighter, more pastel colors, she plays around with her friends, she daydreams about getting a love letter someday. She's in the Gardening and Crafts club and likes to draw. Her penchant for cute things is definitely seen when she draws herself as a magical girl with large bows, poofy dress, and pink in color.
Throughout the series, she is shown constantly being protected by others. First it was Mami who allowed her some time before deciding whether or not she wanted to be a magical girl by showing her the ropes. Of course, Mami had to protect her while she hunted witches and familiars since she couldn't fight them on her own. Next, it was Sayaka who decided to become a magical girl before her. And though she had her own agenda while fighting and occasionally let Madoka tag along, she also protected her with her powers. And then Homura who became a magical girl for Madoka in the first place and was protecting her all along. She had to see their fights and constant struggles as magical girls and was helpless to help any of them.
But biding her time helped her grow stronger. While she may have felt weak and useless, she had more time to think and grow mentally. Mami had no choice, Sayaka made poor a poor decision, and Homura, well, she's a different case. In doing so, she was able to make the ultimate wish. One that would rid all magical girls of their sorrow and become their hope. She became the strongest magical girl of them all not only because she saw all of the mistakes that the other girls made and learned and waited.
This was what she wanted all along, to become strong and to help others. But she went about it a different way than all of the other time lines, finally getting it right. And though it might have not been the happiest ending for her since all of her friends and family would forget her since she wouldn't exist. She knew that she had to give back what had been given to her. Hope.
It was the author's intentions to make it so that when one imagines a magical girl, they can imagine someone like Madoka who is supposed to be like the poster child for magical girls in every way. From the pigtails, to the costume, even to the weapon that she uses.

[First Person]
Q:What do you think of your home world?
A: It's a nice place. It's in the suburbs, so not much happens. But I think I like the way that is..
Q:If you could go back home, would you? Why or why not?
A: I don't know. If all of my friends could be here, then...should I wait?
Q: If someone provoked or attacked you, what would you do?
A: I-I'm no good with confrontation like that!
Q:Would you consider yourself a power hungry individual?
A: I definitely want the ability to do more for those I love but....being power hungry...that's not really a good thing, is it?
Q:Murder. What is your opinion?
A: It's terrible! I just can't understand how anyone can take someone elses life for any reason...
This is such a serious question. C-can we move on to another one, please?
Q:The hottest boy/girl in class/workplace just confessed their love to you. How do you respond?
A: [She blushes and ducks her head.] There's no way that sort of thing would happen to me. S-so...I don't really know how to answer this.
Q:If you could destroy a city, how would you do it?
A: This is a terrible question. I...I wouldn't destroy a city.
Q:Is the best part of waking up having Folger's in your cup?
A: That's a western brand of coffee isn't it? I don't really want to start drinking coffee until I'm an adult... But I'm sure it'll be important when I have to work hard.
Q:If you could change your current lifestyle or job career, what would it be?
A: I would be a strong mother like Mama!
Q: Am I asking too many personal or strange questions?
A: They are kind of strange...and maybe a bit personal. It's kind of tiring, but I'll answer since you asked them. It must be important to you if you asked, right?
Q:Can you surpass God?
A: Bitch, I am God. (/shot)
Q:Also, your thoughts on symmetry?
A: It's nice in art, I guess. That's a strange question....
Q:What... is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?
A: I....I don't know.... I was never really good at math..
Q:Do you believe in the magic of friendship?
A: It's really nice! I know that friends will do really great things for each other even when they're sad or upset with each other... that's just how friends are. I hope I could have been a good friend to everyone.
Q:Will you make a contract with me? /人◕‿ ◕人\
A: S-so the one asking all of these questions was Kyuubey all along....I-I've already made a contract with you!
[Third Person]
Madoka walked around the streets of Somni, her bright, pink magical girl outfit stood out amongst the crowd that wore fall colors. Her pink pigtails bobbed around her shoulders as she looked this way and that. Her gloved hands reached up and ghosted along the large soul gem that hung on the choker around her neck.
Suddenly, she didn't feel as powerful as she did when she made that wish. What had happened? But still, she wandered around the city looking around for somebody, anybody that she knew.
This didn't look like her hometown which was nearly in shambles when she left the world, but where could she be?
There was no sign that she had stared down any sort of witch previously, there were no signs of dark skies, and there were no signs of Homura anywhere.
Her heart skipped a nervous beat. Had Homura turned back the clock again? No, if that was so, then she wouldn't have even known who Homura was, which in reality, scared her even more. She didn't want her best friend to not be remembered. She had endured so much pain and suffering for her sake, she didn't want to disappoint her.
But she couldn't find her! She was already letting down her best friend.
The magical girl used her enhanced abilities and started jumping onto the rooftops. Her red eyes were looking squarely at the tall building in the center of the town and made her way quickly there. She hopped from building to building until she finally gave a final leap and bound upwards to the rooftop there.
"HOMURA-CHAAAAAAAAAAAAN!" she called out in the loudest voice she could muster. It didn't matter if people were giving her strange looks, though it did make her a little self conscious about what she was doing. She probably looked very silly.
She would give it one more try. "HOMURAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!"
Third time's the charm? "HOOOOOOOOOOOMURAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
Nothing. And she knew the other girl was capable of popping up at the most random of places...so maybe she...
Madoka leapt from the building and landed gently onto the floor.
She closed her eyes and transformed out of her magical girl outfit. There was no sign of Kyuubey or any witch, so she had to use her soul gem as scarcely as possible as to not taint it.
She started asking around this time, asking if anyone had seen a pretty girl with long, black hair. Homura was so pretty, that she would be surprised if no one knew who she was talking about.
But unfortunately, it was to no avail. But she couldn't give up hope. She'd search this place up and down if it was for her friend.
[Why do you want to play this character in Somarium?] Because she's a magical girl and everywhere needs more magical girls!
[Which rule was your favorite and why?] The language one is always my fave for EVER!
[Any questions?]Nooone.
