I consider that satisfying general physical urges is the most applicable set of inconsequential events/actions. For example, I retain virtually no discernable benefit from taking a piss or scratching my ear beyond the next moment, by which time said action has been forgotten or discarded. Which is to say, I do not find any inherent value in basic physical maintenance. In addition to ephemerality, there is no decision making process associated. I am not thinking, "Gee, I wonder if I should scratch my ear?" I don't think at all, I merely respond to nervous stimulus.
