In the newspapers and on various message boards, I keep reading entries written by people who believe Christmas is all about the presents. For many, it is. But in my family, you no longer get presents after your 18th birthday. I'm okay with this, because I believe Christmas should be the holiday in which we dote upon our children. For me, it's not

Well said, krikkert! Presents are nice, but it's all about family and friends. It's one of the few times a year my family now can get together and sit with friends for dinner.

Your Christmas Eve dinner sounds good. I think I gained ten pounds just reading about the food you'll have there. In my family, our traditional Christmas Eve dinner is lasagna. Mom makes it only once a year.
