Which Civic did you testdrive? I drove the Civic Hybrid, and I was surprised I really didn't like it (surprised in the way that I don't think of myself as a picky person). The car noticably dragged as it was coasting (as opposed to the Prius, Toyota's gas-electric hybrid). The car-salesman as soon as he heard that tried to sell me one of the regular Civic models (in his words, "oh, you want more power").

I drove a civic ex. I don't think i want to spend the extra money on a hybrid. You should try the ex- i loved it. i drove a corrolla lx also, 2005, and i didn't like it so much. A friend of mine is trying to get me to consider some American cars, but for some reason I'm kind of stuck on the civic...

Yeah, they say a hybrid takes about 5-8 years to recoup the extra cost of the car from the reduced gas usage, so cost is not reason alone to buy it.
