how disapointed I can get, when I've read an awesome premise to a story only to then realize I can't read it due to bad writing

I feel like that awesome idea is now lost. Could have been wonderful had it been claimed by a good author, but now, it is lost to the world of bad writing...

Exactly! And then I feel bad, because the author *did* write a long fic and came up with a great idea, which is way more than I've done for fandom in years. And then I feel like a spoiled brat for thinking "If only ****** or ***** had come up with that idea instead..."
