As anyone who has friended me has noticed, I haven't posted anything written in 2016.
I haven't even attempted more than 200 words of fic writing (it involved the Aussie DC dramaz).
That doesn't mean I haven't been writing. I am working on a second novel.
I have been getting updates from
BookBub for months. If you do, there are free eBooks (mostly to entice you into purchasing the rest of a series) but it's fun to read the repetitive summaries. I admit I've downloaded a few of the free ones and read a bunch more reviews of other books.
One day I see a blurb for a story called More Than Pancakes by Christine DePetrillo - it conjured up a rather specific image. I click on the link and the longer summary... is not what I was picturing. I immediately start writing down a lot of ideas... and I somehow got to an actual story I want to write.
To be clear, I did read the book. It's fine. It's just different from what I imagined. It's still available as a free download on Amazon.
(link) I'll see what comes of the novel - at the very least, I'll post the segment here and to fictionpress, where currently resides the nonstarter intro of Between Chapters (the basic concept of "writer casting his life into a novel" evolved into the fic The Falcon but I did write quite a bit more of BC than I posted there, if anyone had been interested) and the actually finished Sunrise Avenue.
