Dear Yuletide Letter

Oct 25, 2020 14:04

Thank you for reading my letter.  I have barely written the last few years but 2020 needs to end with nice gifts for all.

GENERAL
Things I Like:
The more people involved in a story, the better. I like subplots and side pairings but I get if that’s not possible in a thousand words. “A Day in the Life” kind of story. Friends to lovers. Complications.

Things I Don’t Like:
Please stay away from real life tragedies. 9/11 is an especially sore point, as I grew up just outside New York City. As I have requested a real person who was personally affected by a school shooting, absolutely do not go there.
A/B/O and MPreg.

Men's Tennis RPF
(Andy Murray, Stefanos Tsitsipas)

I am a sucker for an Andy Murray fic.  I made sure he was in the tag set and request him whenever I do a letter.

My specific request has Stefanos in it due to him becoming my favorite of the younger group.  My suspicion is Stef doesn't know much about Andy since injuries have kept him off the tour of late.  They haven't played on tour or even the virtual events during covid (I did want a Andy/Stef virtual Madrid final just for the trash talking).  So I want that mystique in play for the fic.  Andy has seemed to play a Big Brother role when it comes to Sascha and Nick

You could pair Stef with Andy but I understand if you don't want to write that.  There isn't even much online about this pairing, except for this random tidbit.

So my request is that both are involved in the fic.  Open season as to the pairings as long as one of them is involved in the main pairing.  I like Stef with anyone in the tag set (that means Dominic Thiem, Sascha Zverev, Daniil Medvedev, Nick Kyrgios).  You can go beyond the tagset with the pairings - you might have to regarding Andy anyway (my all-time fave is Andy/Rafa Nadal if we're going Big 4 as I wrote in a previous Yuletide letter but Stan Wawrinka could also be fun to work with).  I go for the unusual pairings.  Have fun with it!

DNW: Don't be mean toward Andy's wife Kim (though infidelity is OK).  Also, if they are athletes, no recreational drug use.

BoJack Horseman
(BoJack Horseman, Mr. Peanutbutter)

Maybe resentful 90s stuff, once Mr. Peanutbutter's House made BoJack less relevant.  Or even 2000s stuff, as there hasn't been much mention of what BoJack actually did during that decade as Peanutbutter was doing low-level acting gigs.

Slash would be fine. After all, maybe BoJack never got married for a reason.

I know that BoJack flashed back to Sarah Lynn in S6.  Did Mr. Peanutbutter know her? (I don't remember it in the series but run with it either way)

Since BoJack did not know Diane until the series started, it would be tough to include her but maybe Peanutbutter mentions meeting/dating her to BoJack?  Or even some of the stuff from when PB was married to Katrina or Jessica Biel.

The Disaster Artist: My Life Inside The Room - Greg Sestero & Tom Bissell
(Greg Sestero, Tommy Wiseau)
I am throwing a few ideas out to you, author.  If you want to go in a different direction, that's fine as well.  Their bizarre friendship (or more) is what I'm looking for.  If you would prefer to use the dynamic as portrayed in the movie adaptation, that's fine.

1. This is actually a segment of a fic I attempted but left abandoned.  If it inspires you, run with it.
While Greg is honored that James Franco wanted to turn their story into a movie, he admits to feeling a bit of trepidation once finding out Seth Rogen is also on board.  He remembers that parody of "Bound 2" with them making out on the motorcycle and, if James was seeing their friendship as something else, that could get dicey.
It's so much easier when he discovers James' brother Dave is portraying Greg.  After all, slashiness is okay but incest is a clear no-go.  Greg should feel relieved, right?  Right?

2. Tommy has been talking about a follow-up to The Room.  What pieces of real life would be used this time?  How far is too far?

3. If The Room is Tommy's "secret" love letter to Greg but Greg already figured it out, then maybe this book was meant to be Greg's answer to the love letter.
