"What was that?"
Yunho questioned himself, leaning back into his leather chair. He twirled his pen between his fingers and watched it go round-round-round before sighing, "Really, what is up with that guy," He repeated, a mental picture of Jaejoong's various facial expressions coursed through his mind.
"Hey, you seem a bit distracted. Care to share?"
A clear, deep voice penetrated Yunho's thoughts, causing him to drop his pen onto his desk and look up to see the face of the most robust man he ever knew. Yunho found himself a bit - what is the word? - Awestruck, yes, awestruck.
"JiHoon-Shii," Yunho said as he stood up and bowed. He heard the older man laugh heartily.
"Please sit Yunho, I come as a friend." The older man swiftly, as if walking on air, found his way to the chair across from Yunho and sat down. Yunho could have cried at that moment, Jung Jihoon (No relation) was everything he ever wanted to be. Just to be breathing the same air as him was an honor. Yeah, Yunho was a fan boy. A big one at that.
He found himself locking eyes with the man he aspired to be, his pupils dilating every second he stared at his handsome boss. "I'm fine Jihoon-Shii, I just have a lot on my mind."
"You mean, you have a lot on your hands?" Jihoon inquired, his already small eyes narrowing.
Even with small eyes, Yunho thought, he's can be quite cute. His face immediately contorted with confusion at his own thoughts, what the actual fuck was I just thinking?
Jihoon noticed the brief expression and laughed playfully, "Thinking dirty thoughts Yunho?"
In shock, Yunho straightened his back and feigned a soft cough, "My new roommate seems to enjoy scolding me." Yunho responded.
"That's right!" The older man asserted, "You moved into Seung-heon's old apartment. Is Jaejoong-ah giving you a hard time?" he asked with a slight tilt of the head, "That's quite odd, Jaejoong is usually very quiet. Every time I saw him he was always too shy to utter a word."
Then why is it, Yunho thought, that Jaejoong can't seem to close his mouth whenever I'm around.
Yunho nods slowly, still quite confused, "About Seung-heon Hyung, I haven't been able to reach him. Do you happen to know where he is?"
With a big smile, Yunho's boss claps his hands together, "He went to Hawaii with his girlfriend. He didn't tell you?"
"He has a girlfriend, how could I have forgotten," Yunho shook his head at himself as he stared at the bright light of a lamppost. He was on his way home now, walking a mere six to seven minutes from work.
The sun had already gone down and the sky was a dark shade of gray and blue. He liked the feel of the atmosphere, the quiet stillness of the air around him.
"Yunho-yaaaaaah,"
A very clear voice from above called out to him in long syllables. "Yu-nh-oooo-yaahh," He hears again, his silence blatantly disturbed. In annoyance, Yunho snaps his head up and sees Jaejoong waving at him with both hands from the second floor of their suite, his head peeking through the window sill.
Don't call out to me like that Yunho thought to himself with a frown, and when did he start referring to me so affectionately?
The look on Jaejoong's face had a subtle expression of expectation, a somewhat calm and gentle smile tugging at his full of complains rose colored lips. His eyes were glassy, with a far-away gaze that made him seem almost fragile. He almost looked - beautiful. No - he was beautiful. The expression on Jaejoong's face was indelible.
But it was an expression that bothered Yunho, because he couldn't understand - couldn't fathom it.
"Welcome home," Jaejoong greeted once Yunho set foot into the suite, a sudden frown dimming his face, much different from the smile Jaejoong had given him a mere one minute ago. "You could have waved back you know, Yunho."
"Why would I do that?" Yunho asked back, incredulous.
"Never mind!" Jaejoong let out an exasperated sigh and retreated back to the couch where he sat on the exact same spot near the window. "Don't wave back then," Yunho heard him mumble, it was almost inaudible - but Yunho heard it clearly as if Jaejoong had said it into his ear.
No, but seriously, why should I? He wondered to himself, shaking his head as he took off his blazer and loosened his tie as he advanced into his bedroom only to find a seemingly younger, slightly taller tanned man with a drooping lip standing in the middle of his room, his hands in his pockets.
It was then Yunho remembered Jaejoong's calm smile.
"Who are you?" Yunho said with a deep tone trying to mask his fear. His scanned the other man's muscular body, and then looked right back at the man's dangerous eyes. They were staring at each other now, Yunho's hand grabbing a pen from his pocket as a weapon. "A hit man, a thief?"
I'll stab him in the face, or the neck - but that would look gross. I can't do that, the eyes - yeah but he could still attack me. Maybe the spleen, I don't know where that is exactly but it sounds cool. No one ever thinks of the spleen, various thoughts raced through Yunho's head, things that didn't even make sense. Dear God, Yunho prayed, direct me to his spleen!
He inched closer to the taller man, but the taller man didn't move. Instead, he grinned - a sardonic, playful grin, "Are you planning on stabbing me with that?" His eyes strayed to the pen Yunho was gripping tightly. Then calmly, he took a step forward and proceeded to walk past Yunho and exited the room.
"Jaejoong-shii!" Yunho screamed out immediately as he ran after the taller man, quickly grabbing him and putting him into a headlock - only to realize there were two other men in the living room staring at him with wide, startled eyes.
"Oh Yunho-ah!" Jaejoong said coming out of the kitchen, his eyes widening as he saw Yunho and the taller man in his hold. There was an awkward silence that surrounded the suite as all eyes were on Yunho. "Well, this is fun," Jaejoong broke the silence with a shy laugh, "Yoochun, Junsu - that man strangling Changmin is my new roommate, Jung Yunho. He is - how old are you?"
"Twenty-six," Yunho answered immediately, still in awkward shock.
"Oh! Me too," Jaejoong said excitedly, "Yunho, these are my closest friends, Yoochun, Junsu and Changmin," They all looked at each other still taken aback as the silence overtook the room for a good minute or two. Everyone was in a state of pause - a stillness that made every minute more torturous than the last.
"Where is Seung-Heon Hyung," The taller man, Changmin, questioned still bent over in Yunho's grip. It seemed that both Yunho and Changmin had forgotten that they were gripping each other during the awkward situation.
Upon hearing the question, Jaejoong's eye twitched. It was brief, if Yunho had blinked even once, he would have missed it. But Yunho didn't blink, he saw the twitch. But the others surely missed it.
"He left." Jaejoong responded simply, gathering himself and then flopping himself back onto the couch, "he was already gone when I got back."
"Weren't you two supposed to go on that trip together Hyung," A smaller, softer looking man asked, "Does this mean you and Hyung have broken up - " then he paused, and decided not to keep going. But Jaejoong looked unfazed, Yunho - on the other hand felt like he was going crazy.
Jaejoong and Hyung were lovers, but Jaejoong still loves Hyung. Whereas Hyung-
"Good morning Jaejoong-shii," Yunho greeted a kneeling Jaejoong. He had been up early doing the chores left over from last nights awkward dinner with Jaejoong's friends. Jaejoong had been kneeling on the kitchen floor, swift hands knotting the garbage bags as a satisfied expression touched his bright face. "I'm sorry for leaving you to do all the chores, Jaejoong-shii." Yunho said with genuine guilt.
Jaejoong had cleaned everything spotless, he would be the perfect housewife Yunho thought with a nod, only if we could do something about the noise that came out of his mouth.
"No, it's fine Yunho-yah," Jaejoong said with a slight smile, "I like doing this kind of stuff. It makes me feel - needed."
This caught Yunho off-guard, Jaejoong never displayed a sense of vulnerability, but that comment was tinted with such sad emotion that Yunho almost felt his heart vibrate.
"Anyways," Jaejoong said shrugging off his own comment, "take out the trash on your way out okay? The husband always takes out the trash."
"What husband!" Yunho stuttered, "Whose husband am I." Jaejoong was looking at Yunho with defiant eyes now, but Yunho didn't back down this time, "why didn't you just take out the trash yourself. By the time I go out for work the garbage man would be long gone."
"So?" Jaejoong pushed back, "as long as it's out of this suite. What's the problem Yunho-yah, you're going outside anyways. Why make such a fuss, be a man." And with that Jaejoong dropped the bags of trash at Yunho's feet, satisfaction dancing like flames in his eyes. And once again Yunho was rendered speechless.
"Yunho-yah," Jaejoong said with a softer tone as he moved to the kitchen sink, Yunho followed, "Yesterday, you caught my lie. I'm really embarrassed."
"About you and Seung-heon Hyung?"
"I'm bisexual," Jaejoong admitted with a sigh, "I like both women and men, but if you're talking about preference, I prefer men more. Does that - do you feel weird about that."
"No, not at all." Yunho answered truthfully, "Do you still love him?"
"Yes," He answered, "I do still love him very much. But I knew from the beginning, that if he found a woman and had to choose. He would choose his girlfriend. I knew it, I prepared myself."
"Why," Yunho said, his eyes looking Jaejoong over, "why don't you cry?"
Yunho's question seemed to startle Jaejoong, as his eyes expanded and his lips parted, "If crying would bring him back to me, I would gladly do so. But it won't, so why bother?"
Have you given up on him Jaejoong-shii, even though you love him? Or maybe because you already know, you don't stand a chance. Knowing Seung-heon, crying would only annoy him. The bastard.
"By the way," Jaejoong smiled brightly, as if casting the deep conversation aside, "I also did the laundry." He pointed to the balcony where he had hung the clothes to dry. Yunho felt thankful as he saw many of his clothes were washed and drying. Until something caught his eye that made him want to stamp his feet in sheer frustration. "I realized that you and I had the same kind of underwear, same brand and everything. So that we don't get mixed up, I put your name on yours."
"What the fuck!" Yunho almost screamed, he was almost at his boiling point as he looked at the ugly scribble of his name right beside the crotch pocket of his underwear. He really, if he could, wanted to cry. "Couldn't you have put an X or an O or something? Why did you have to write my name on the front? I swear, Jaejoong-shii, I'll get you back."
"Go ahead and try it, next time I'll write your full name on your underwear, Jung Yu-nho-yaaah," He sing-songed playfully, a pompous expression on his childish face.
Yunho's second and the morning of his third day was just as awkward, nerve-wracking and somewhat torturous as the his first day with his new roommate.
He didn't know if things would get better, if things would get easier - but for some reason he didn't care so much anymore. As he looked at Jaejoong's face, he realized he couldn't just leave. Because, somehow - in some way, he became a fool. A fool for his infuriating roommate Kim Jaejoong.

1. Hello darlings, I hope you enjoyed this somewhat longer chapter :D
2. I enjoyed writing this just as much as I enjoyed writing the first chapter. But I did have a tougher time, especially with the structure. I didn't want to structure it exactly like the manga, so please don't ask where a certain part went. (If you read the manga)
3. I don't know what it is, but I love writing smug infuriating Jaejoong, he's just so fun! Just picturing his face sometimes, :D ugh, makes me a happy girl.
4. Oh! & if you guys haven't guessed it yet - Jung Jihoo is Bi-rain :D
5. So comments are epic, thank you so much in advance darlings ♥
