.STAGE 3

2 weeks passed since Yunho moved into his new apartment suite, a suite that came with another man named Kim Jaejoong. Since then, nothing ever did calm down and Jaejoong was just as infuriating as ever.

Yunho's days consisted of waking  up, getting scolded, going to work, going home, getting scolded, then going to sleep. Everyday, when he came home from work, he would find Jaejoong drinking his beer on his couch. Don't do this, don't do that, do this, do that - Yunho-yah! Yunho believed he was going absolutely mental.

On the days Jaejoong was too lazy to get up off the couch and cook, Yunho would take it upon himself to boil his favorite cup ramen soup. He would leave it in the kitchen to cook thoroughly while he went around the suite doing small chores only to come back and find Jaejoong already eating it.

"Hey!" Yunho would say, "that's mine Jaejoong-shii."

And Jaejoong would keep eating, "I make dinner for you all the time Yunho-yah, I slave away over the boiling hot stove just to make delicious meals for you to enjoy and you don't even have an ounce of decency to make me a cup ramen?" Would be his response, "how could you be so inconsiderate?"

Yunho just never learned his lesson, and the lesson was - whatever Jaejoong says goes, and that Yunho's arguments were basically, well, invalid at all times.

But this time, Yunho thought with a smirk, I have a plan. A plan of epic proportions. The most greatest, amazingly huge, elephant sized plan that will blow people's minds!

It wasn't really, all he was going to do was put a few drops of sudden death spicy sauce in his ramen to teach Jaejoong a lesson. That's all, it wasn't anything big. But it was for Yunho, because he wasn't the type to scheme or take revenge. So with a brilliant, satisfied smile on his face - he thought his plan was absolute genius.

In the days following, Jaejoong cooked dinner or bought take out food and Yunho was getting anxious as to when he could finally unfold his mind blasting plan. He waited, and waited, and waited some more until - finally! He came home to find Jaejoong sitting on the couch, remote in the left hand - a beer in the right hand.

"Oh, I'm hungry," Yunho sighs, "I guess I'll go make some ramen," He said aloud, enough to clue Jaejoong in. But Jaejoong didn't move, his eyes were glazed over while watching an American movie called The Note Book, or whatever it was called.

So Yunho went into the kitchen, boiled the water, cooked the ramen, added ten drops of the sudden death sauce and left the room to wait for Jaejoong the beast to feast. But he didn't come, instead he was cuddling his blanket, still preoccupied with the movie.

"Yunho-yah" Jaejoong says finally turning to look at Yunho, his eyes glassy and bright. "Where can I find my Noah?" He said, kicking his feet in a giggling fit as he quickly reverted his attention back to the chick-flick. "Should I go to America to find him - Ryan Gosling," he whispered the name to himself in heavily accented English.

Yunho didn't know if Jaejoong was being serious with that question or whether he should be taken seriously at all, but what Yunho did know was that he needed to execute his plan. So Yunho brought the ramen to the living room, pretending to eat it and put it on the living room table.

Almost instantly, Yunho heard Jaejoong say, "May I?" followed by him leaning forward and grabbing Yunho's chopsticks from his hand, twirling the noodles and then slurping it all up, 'Oh!' Jaejoong exclaimed, his face gleaming, "Yunho-yah, how did you know I loved spicy food! I was always hesitant to cook spicy food because I was worried I'd kill you, but now that I know you like it also, I'll make lots of spicy foods for you!"

Yunho hated spicy foods.

"Is there anymore?" Jaejoong said, his breath hitching due to the overwhelming spice, "can you add more spicy sauce?"

And Yunho swears he felt his face fall, if possible - in any way, he was sure his jaw would have hit the floor in an instant. As he walked to the kitchen to grab the death sauce, Yunho realized he made one of the biggest mistakes of his life. Now Jaejoong was really going to kill him. Yunho couldn't handle spicy foods, for some reason they gave him the runs, yes - the runs, don't laugh.

"Yunho-yah, I bought some grapes today. Big red juicy ones, want some?"

Yunho nods, his eyes fastened on the television. Ohmy, Yunho thinks to himself, how can this - how can a movie be so damn heartbreaking? Be a man Yunho, be a man - don't show emotion.

Awh shit, Yunho sighs, his thoughts flustering by the second, don't leave him Allie! He loves you! Can't you see that? You'd be stupid to leave Noah. Do you hear me? You'd be stupid.

"Are you okay Yunho-yah, you seem to be getting a bit emotional," Jaejoong teased as he put the bowl of red grapes in the center of the table. Yunho coughed,  his eyebrows raised in surprise at Jaejoong's rather maternal tone.

"What are you talking about?" Yunho feigned ignorance as he mindlessly popped a grape into his mouth.

"You don't peel them?" Jaejoong asks him, his voice taking on a bewildered tone as he concentrated on peeling the skin off his grape, "isn't it hard to swallow with the peel on?"

"No," Yunho says simply, with a straight face, "It doesn't bother me." And he pops another into his mouth.

And Jaejoong stares at him contemplatively, his face a mask of curiosity, his sharp eyes wide as if Yunho's actions were foreign, and slowly - almost hesitantly, he grabs a grape and puts it into his mouth. For a moment, they both just sat staring at each other in silence but soon enough, Jaejoong's face contorts as he struggles to swallow the grape.

"Why are you forcing yourself? Just eat it as you normally do." Yunho said almost fondly as he sees Jaejoong blush in embarrassment while taking another grape and peeling it once again.

"Honestly Yunho-yah," Jaejoong says, his voice soft, his relief evident across his face, "with you. I feel like I can say what's on my mind. I feel like I can be my true self with you - so, I'm really glad I met you and that you're my room-mate." Jaejoong pauses for a bit, his expression thoughtful, as if he was reminiscing. "With Seung-heon shii, I probably - no, I would have forced myself to eat the skin."

It was then that Yunho realized, Seung-heon hyung wasn't the liar - it was Jaejoong. Because, Seung-heon never encountered the difficult, menacing and erratic side of Jaejoong. It was also then that Yunho realized that Jaejoong was never actually the quiet type, but then again - Seung-heon wouldn't have known that.

Yunho stared at Jaejoong, his eyes clear with sympathy as he watched Jaejoong. Jaejoong's sincere words touched Yunho's heart and made him feel warm all over.

At that time, Yunho couldn't help but remember the first time he laid eyes on Jaejoong. It was at a home-warming party - Seung-heon's home-warming party. The company's co-workers gathered to celebrate Seung-heon's success and new apartment suite.

Jaejoong had been silently serving food and drinks to the guests, a vacant, detached expression on his face as he roamed the apartment suite, handing people drinks and food. To be perfectly honest, Yunho thought Jaejoong was hired help, someone Seung-heon hired to help serve and entertain the guests. Back then, at that time - Jaejoong really didn't have much presence.

Now that I think about it Yunho thought, his eyebrows furrowing, Seung-heon's girlfriend was there too. What was her name again? - hm, who cares - she wasn't a great beauty anyway. But the more Yunho thought about that night, he couldn't help but wonder what was going on in Jaejoong's mind as he saw Seung-heon with his girlfriend in his apartment suite, how he felt. So, no one knew Jaejoong was living with him. Hyung, you're a bastard.

"Maybe it's because you really don't care if I dislike you. Whereas, you cared what Seung-heon thought of you because you loved him." Yunho suggested. In his mind, he hoped that Jaejoong would disagree - that he would say, I care what you think about me Yunho-yah.

"I see," Jaejoong nodded at the realization, "that must be it."

What a fucking piss-off, Yunho frowned, what's so great about Seung-heon anyways? He can't even put BB cream on properly for god-sakes!

"You know, Yunho-yah," Jaejoong starts slowly and Yunho felt it, Jaejoong was going in for the kill, "I was surprised you like spicy foods. Since, you know, you're kind of chubby."

"W-what!" Yunho uttered a choked response.

"Well, you see Yunho-yah, spicy food makes you sweat a lot, so you burn a lot of calories. That's why I have a great body, I have abs and nice arms - " Jaejoong went on about his body, "but you don't have abs, you're a bit - chubby, it's cute."

Yunho stared at Jaejoong, dumbfounded by his logic, only Jaejoong could think such ridiculous, mind-blasting things. If Yunho had a twitter, he'd have #KimJaeJoongLogic trending in seconds.

That very night Yunho examined his reflection on his full length mirror, flexing his arms and tightening his stomach. Abs, you may appear! He thought to himself as he made the most manly face he could conjure up. Ha! I Have abs. They aren't as defined as Jaejoong's, but who cares - I'm handsome, more handsome than Jaejoong, more handsome than Seung-heon hyung. I could be the Korean Ryan Gosling! Ye-yuh! Yunho proceeded to make shameless smiley faces at his reflection as he flexed his body in various poses, "Yeah, that's right Jaejoong - this time you're invalid because I'm gorgeous."

But no, Yunho didn't have abs. His body was well sculpted and toned, but to say he had abs would be a blatant lie. Denial can surely go a long way, but in terms of Yunho's logic, he believed his face made up for his lack of a muscular body.

The second week with his new room-mate was frustrating but not as torturous as the days prior. Living with Jaejoong was - fun and entertaining, never a dull moment, frustrating - but never lonely and those were the reasons why Yunho had not once thought of leaving, and well - maybe Jaejoong was a reason too.

But you'd never hear Yunho admit to that.
