I had to get up this morning for class at 9. When I left the apartment at 8:30, it was warmer outside than in our fucking apartment! It's so damn cold, but if we bring the heat up on the thermostat at all, it over compensates and cranks out a ridiculous amount of heat ( Read more... )

I wish it were too cold in the apartment. One of my roommates wants it cranked up to 85. o.O We've compromised at 75, but that still fricking warm for me. :( I hate the cold in the middle of the night feeling though. Not that I've ever had anyone steal covers from me...

Interesting that some programs are so different. I haven't noticed a stigma for communication--over half of the masters and Ph. D. students here did a combo of their undergrad and/or masters here. However, if you do end up in Point, you know, we could actually get together some time and hang out. So *crosses fingers* Ditto for the car thing. ;) Wait, you know the answer to the car thing by now. So... Did it work out?

On a side note, I like your icon.

Yupperz! We bought the car. The only thing left to do is put it on my dad's insurance! I'm pretty excited about it, even though I found out after we bought it that the cruise control was broken. One of the few things we didn't check/ask about. But oh well.

I think it really depends on the major as to the stigmas... When I talked to my oldest brother, he said it was the same for him in Mechanical Engineering. They really looked down on you for doing you undergrad/masters at the same school. I don't think it's going to be that big of a deal for me. I'm not too interested in going for my Ph. D. There are a lot of things that would just be so much more simple if I stayed in Point. I could stay on my parents health care, car insurance, we have so many friends here... plus we could actually find some time to hang out! Maybe meeting in Appleton or something.

You know... I have a car. You have a car. I have November 21 free... I don't know your schedule, but we could meet next month if you have the time for it. Appleton works for me (is that the midpoint?). Otherwise, we should shoot for Christmas. Two fricking years is too long. :) Just throwing it out there.
