Fireplace decoration help

Ok, so I think I am just going to go out and order that mirror and hang it up someday when Andrew is gone. LOL. I need to decide on a mirror size though. The current mantle is just a hair under 70" long. I think the new one when Andrew makes it will be similar in length. But we will be getting rid of the awful fake marble tile and probably putting

I love that mirror. I think decorating with mirrors really opens up a room. We have one in our dining room and our family room.

I think that size would work since you'll be framing it with candle sticks and a vase. That said I think the larger size would look very nice as well. If the price difference wasn't too huge I would probably go with the next larger size.

Thanks. The price difference is only $20 so I think maybe it makes sense to get the larger one? I'm thinking since the mirror has those beveled edges that maybe the larger one would work better too. I think that having a mirrow would make the space look larger and brighter too. I only wish that my husband would agree!

I really like that mirror, but definitely think you need the bigger one - and with the price difference I'd go for it! My husband doens't want a mirror over the fireplace either - so there is NOTHING there since we can't find art we agree on - I'm thinking about just going and ordering one too - it will look great with a vase and candles.

Why are men like this? I dont see what the big deal is about a mirror. I would like to put a nice piece of art up too, but I think the cost is probably going to be alot (like over $1000) and I think my DH would have a heart attack before he spent that much on a picture. So I'm not sure why he is opposed to a mirror. I thought most men just let their wives decorate and keep their mouths shut - but not mine!

Do you think the 36" x 48" will be big enough? The next size up is 48" x 60" which I think will be too big.
