Herb Kolbens of the world: Where are you, do you care?

Allen yelled at me because I borrowed his Wall Street Journal, lent it to another assistant, got it back, but did not return it to the floor (he was keeping it on the floor) where he left it. It was on my desk, I promptly returned it when he screamed for it. I don't really enjoy being yelled at period, but especially not for something so innocent

"Then there's this guy who calls for Allen sometimes, his name is Herb Kolben. He always calls on his cell phone, he never has good reception, when he says his name, it always sounds like Herb KolDen to me. Allen hates that I can't get it straight, he comes out of his office and says, "The guy's name is Herb KOLBEN. Kolben. Kolben. He's a nice guy." I go to write it down so I remember, writing things down helps me remember and Allen's like, "Don't write it down. Just put it in your head."

My boss does the same thing to me and it is annoying because you are only writing down what you hear.
