I did something really dumb yesterday.

I saw that Timbuk2 had some job vacancies. One was for "Online Community Manager", which answers customers questions, manages the facebook/flickr/twitter/the Timbuk2 blog, and other online customer-related things. This job would be amazing, so I applied for it ( Read more... )

That's the thing, i don't know if I'll ever be prepared to live in a big city, taking public transportation*, living in a tiny apartment. Across the country from my dad.

*=I'm assuming that SF has no parking whatsoever, lol. But will become of my Xterra D: if by some miracle they would actually hire me.

San Francisco is an amazing town but it's very expensive to live there. If you lived in the city, a car would be more trouble and expense than it's worth.

But if it's an online community manager job, why would they insist you move to SF? I know it's a moot point now but telecomuting is a thing. And that job description was hipstery/douchey. I think you dodged a bullet. I wouldn't want any job where I had to talk about how awesome bikes are and having a dog pissing in my office. :-P

I think its because they have to visit the warehouse a lot, I know when I was having problems with a misprinted bag several years ago, the person helping me out (which I assume is the job they were posting for) went to the warehouse to check out the other bags like that.

Yeah, the talking about bikes would annoy me, since I can't ride a bike due to my weight. I wouldn't mind the dogs in the office though, however, it may of wanted me to get a dog, or miss Maggie too much :(
