I'm in Solomon's Island right now sitting in a hotel room with my family, where i will reside for the weekend attempting to get a handle on all of my homework. I would do option 2 if that's what you want. Always do what feels right to YOU. If you think Latin's just getting in the way and you want study halls do that. If that's not what you want, don't do it.

You'll make the right decision, trust urself on that.

I definitly think you should do what feels right to you. I think that if you really love latin and you think it will help you in the long run then you should definitly do latin and do option 1, but if you think you won't use it later in your life then do option 2. I think you just have to think about what is really important to you and what you will be most beneficial to you in the long run. Personally, I would do the first option b/c I agree with your parents (never thought I would say that lol) that you shouldn't give up something you like or are good at even if it does mean having study halls. It's up to you so chose what you think is the best option.
