I'm doing the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on Sunday, October 7 at 9am.
It's a 5k Run/Walk with a 1mile Run/Walk option.

The registration fee is $20, and you get a free t-shirt, and TONS of food after the race.

How do I begin to reconcile what I want and what I have?

- A decent grade point average.
- To be accepted into Public Health School with a tuition stipend.
- To be financially independent, and to start saving money toward buying a house.

It is damn hot.

This whole week the temperature has been in the upper nineties.
Today just broke the 1954 record (99 degrees), according to the internet weather guru, by reaching 101 degrees!

For the next two weeks, we can expect heat in the high nineties, with the humidity index in the low hundreds.

Tomorrow, I begin my first day of work with the New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity. I suppose that after orientation, I will get a taste of the next few months of my life.
