i think there is a small typo there tho, the email i got from amazon said the 31st of march.

ea has also said that it will be released before the 2009 fiscal year, so before april.

last news blurb, in theory.

this was from an email to the admins over at xspore.com:
"I have just been hired to lead the PR efforts for Spore and soon we’ll have a community manager who will specifically be helping to keep Xspore and the other fan sites in the loop as well. We have been keeping a bit to ourselves lately as we’ve been getting ready for launch, nailing down plans, and putting everything in order for the information to start flowing again in mid-to-late January. Around that timeframe we’ll be able to confirm a release date and to start answering all of your burning questions with solid information."

so look for some official information to be released january. from the email it did sound like they were getting ready for release early next year.

all the news i've found on war points to q1 or q2 of '08. so it could be as late as july or august of next year if that's referencing the financial calendar.
