It's a damn good thing I didn't discover Bluegrass music in my 20s. I would totally have become a groupie.

I don't think they call them groupies in Bluegrass. I think they just call them sis, or cousin.

Yes, I know -- Bluegrass is the direct inheritor of Irish music, shares many of its traits and good points, etc., etc. But I was dragged, as a child, to too many backwoods Bluegrass concerts and forced to endure sitting quietly on a blanket while drunken morons around us yelled "Play Rocky Top!" at the stage for the dozenth time. I can appreciate it intellectually, but I have no taste for it, due to all that childhood trauma.
