Computer woes

My old desktop which has served me faithfully for so long seems to be in the process of giving up the ghost. So, no internet for me at home for a while.

On the plus side, however, I now have the perfect excuse to buy that new computer that I have been eyeing.

Also, this might be a good time to learn Linux ;) That way you don't have to learn Vista.

Thanks for the offer. I actually already managed to talk someone into giving me a ride to Best Buy. Finally have it set up now. It, unfortunately, has Vista but I have now figured out how to run Virtual Box so I can run different OSs as virtual machines without any fiddling/partitioning etc. It's nice to have a computer with enough power to pull that off. So, I already have two different Linux versions installed so I can decide which I prefer :) May also add XP since Adobe Premiere and Vista don't get along. We shall see.

Ohh, new computers. I've heard of Virtual Box, but I've never used it. How's it working out for you? Have you tried very much in Linux yet? I'm not sure if you'd be interested, but this showed up on my flist the other day, if one of the OS' you have installed in Ubuntu.

Gah, I feel your pain. Dean's (don't you love my laptop's name? :P) fan gave out, so I have to go take it to the shop. iService said that it could take up to ten days for them to repair it. Akdjsdlsfsfdf.

Good thing, though, that I still have my dinky old laptop (that's on the verge of dying as well, but hopefully it won't die on my this weekend).

W00t! Oh, man. I can't even imagine what it would be like without the internet :/. Gacck. Did you get a new computer, then?
