I wonder if that's a legit bill. One doesn't usually see $100 bills lying around, because Americans don't use them. The only people I've ever seen use anything bigger than a $20 are foreign tourists. When I worked at the Air & Space museum, I had to mark every bill bigger than a $20 with a special pen, to make sure it was real. You might want to go to a bank or something and ask someone to authenticate it.
I had that thought as well but I already deposited it at an ATM. So what's done is done?
However, given the neighborhood I was in, it's quite possible the $100 was real. (I was walking through the financial district, aka, stock broker-land.)
Oh, yeah, I guess $100 bills probably are more likely to crop up in a financial district. If the bank accepts it, then I guess they either will check it out or just be sad. What a cool thing to find.
