I need some advice! Charlotte's birthday is Wednesday June 7th. We are having a party for her on the 10th. There is a woman at my work that I can't stand but her daughter is the same age as Charlotte and they have played together in the past and they get along. I don't want to invite Mary to my house because I don't trust her. She once stayed ( Read more... )

Any chance you could schedule the party at a neutral location, such as Chucky Cheese?

Otherwise, my thought would be to invite her and her daughter but have a couple close friends on hand to keep an eye on her. I'd also make it a point to hide and lock up anything valuable. If she's going to steal, let her steal junk. Besides, if anybody asks, you can always say that you're protecting your personal treasures from the natural tornado that is three-year-olds.

We are taking her to chuckie cheese the night of her birthday but we don't want to have her party there. Weekends are always so packed and there is always a party going on so it would be a bigger headache than what it's worth.

I guess it would be best to invite her.. and just put everything away.. but what she stole from my friend was a giant bottle of summer's eve. So if this woman would take another womans douche, what wouldn't she steal??

If that's what she took, maybe it's more of a psychological compulsion than anything else. Maybe leave another bottle of Summer's Eve out, just for her. J/k! Seriously, the best you can do is leave only "junk" items out and get a couple trusted friends to help you keep an eye on her.

Good luck!

Curious about the party...? someoneslilsis June 9 2006, 15:00:41 UTC
I am curious if she stole anything... If I had read this sooner I would have told you to leave out a bottle of summers eve and nothing else.. have everything else put away. Then have a friend or someone stay by the bathroom. Then when she comes out they could check.. and you could confront her. Privately of course.. But since I didn't read it in time.. just curious about how it went.

I read your journal often.... actually since you had your daughter. :) She's beautiful... You can see my son on my journal if you want.. :)

I ended up inviting her just to be nice but she had to work that day so her and her kid never came. I was relieved. lol. :) I added you to my friend list.
