Hi! Threadwalker thought you might be able to advise me in the "getting a baby stroller" department. I'm shying away from the big SUV style stroller and infant carseat combos since I live in an 800sq ft apartment and take the bus to work - but are they great? It seems like those big strollers have become necessary childrearing equipment . . . what do you think?
Hi there! Do you have a car? If so, you legally need the carseat for the babe. We got a carseat with a stroller attachment as a hand-me-down, and keep the stroller part in the trunk when not in use. Our issue is our himalaya-like stairs, which make hauling a stroller up and down while carrying a baby kinda dangerous. Most of the time I carry her in a Snugli carrier when I go out, as Phaedra doesn't really like the sling. The stroller is useful sometimes, though. At restaurants, for example, it's useful for her to have her own seat. The carseat works well for that, and snapping it into the stroller base makes life easier. When are you due, and where do you live? Phaedra will soon outgrow hers, so I could pass it on if you're in the bay area. The original owner is now less than 1.5 years old...
