(No, Mew, it is clearly
Koffing.)
BREAKING NEWS! Havoc on the Set!
Eventually, after so many episodes and 'Who's that Pokemon' quizzes, Mewtwo could no longer avoid his fate - he had to appear on the show just as every other Pokemon had before him. Of course, being a generally difficult Pokeperson to deal with, he refused to show himself unless his identity was partially concealed, not wanting any obnoxious trainers coming after him with those damned Master Balls.
Naturally, the producers agreed to his terms, not wanting to be blown to smithereens via a well-placed Psychic blast; unfortunately, they had no idea of the scandal that would unfold thanks to a mischievous little mirage Pokemon.
In front of thousands of children viewing the episode in which Mewtwo would make his one and only debut, Mew took it in herself to latch onto the camera, screaming what was later translated to be 'IT'S PIKACHU' at the top of her lungs. Not only did this confuse the thousands of watching children, but it also brought great annoyance to both Mewtwo and Pikachu, neither of whom appreciated the mix-up.
Mewtwo was quoted as saying: "I'm clearly a cat-like Pokemon. You must understand, it's insulting to be compared to a mouse."
Pikachu, meanwhile, had this to say: "Pika pi, pikachu chu pika pikachu ka pika-pika!"
Mewtwo took great offense at this, and promptly psy-blasted the electric mouse into oblivion. Lawsuits were quickly filed by angered parents, whose children had ended up traumatized by the sudden heart-breaking loss of the cherished Pokemon mascot. So far, Mewtwo has refused to appear at any of the hearings, and has been quite easily evading capture by law enforcement. He is also still quite easily evading capture by those typical trainers wielding Master Balls. There are rumors that he has taken to hiding deep in Cerulean Cave, though many can't help but wonder if perhaps that's where he's been all along.
Meanwhile, even with the offered help of Ash Ketchum (a trainer many agree to be favored by legendary Pokemon), Mew, the cause of it all, has as of yet been unavailable for comment.

...Yes, I'm aware I have far too much free time on my hands. It's probably especially obvious given that I not only wrote up a goofy story to accompany the drawing, but that I had the irrepressible urge to draw Mewtwo with Groucho Marx-like glasses in the first place. 8|;
Anyone who feels the need to point out that Mewtwo appeared very normally in both episodes and various movies, as well as a 'Who's that Pokemon' quiz, may need to reevaluate their sense of humor, because they clearly don't understand the point of a joke.
