Fan fiction is what literature might look like if it were reinvented from scratch after a nuclear apocalypse by a band of brilliant pop-culture junkies trapped in a sealed bunker.
That is a brilliant description of fanfic. :D
I haven't seen the final Harry Potter movie just yet - I'm using it as my reward for finishing Camp NaNoWriMo (just like NaNoWriMo but taking place during July and August), and the earliest I'll be able to see it is next Thursday afternoon. I am very much looking forward to it, though. :) If reports from my friends are anything to go by, I'm going to need tissues and lots of them.
Lovely to see you back on my friends list, by the way. :)
I like how in depth they went. Very good on them for that :) Also, you can't help but smile because J.K. Rowling allows it.
Oooo, I tell you what. I loved every single second of that movie, but what I could have done without was the mindless dolt behind me who didn't know what the hell was going on and kept asking people who were equally clueless. I was about to turn around and tell them to shut their traps and watch the movie to find out why that happened, or just sit and cry in their cookies because they couldn't be bothered to go and read the damn books to find out the answer before the question came.
My only complaint was a few plot points they (mercifully) skimmed over. I totally understand why they did it, but there were some sacrifices in there that really deserved a bit more attention.
I'll tell you what--I've gotten so irritated with humans, I can barely stand to go to movies, concerts, whathaveyou. Particularly where alcohol is concerned. AAAaaarrrggghhhh!!!
I feel for the person who didn't read the books and is trying to understand, but in the theater is NOT the time to be trying to sort that out. I'd read the books and when I saw part 1 I TOTALLY felt the need to re-read the seventh book. So glad I did!!!
Yeah, we noticed a few of them as well, but you gotta do what you gotta do. I'm overall happy with how they did things. Although that time lapse change at the end kind of irked me, only because they have a kid that totally looks like he could be little Teddy, but a 19 year gap doesn't make any sense there since he looks all of 12, and they never actually say his name. *sigh* What can ya do though?
I've gotten to a point where I'm happy with my little group of people. We generally know how to behave ourselves where alcohol is involved, but if outsiders end up around, drama happens without a chance to quell it.
Exactly! I mean, I get having to read over a book or two if you feel like you've lost a few of the key points, but going into a movie completely blind? I was seriously starting to wonder if they'd even bothered to watch the rest of the movies at all! I was lucky, I read the books in their entirety before going to see Part One, so it's still pretty fresh in my noggin!
