I took and passed the FTCE (Florida's Teacher Certification Examination).  I am now offcially certified to teach in Florida!   Now I just need to take the SAE (Subject Area Exam) so I can have a subject to teach!

Definantly a step in the right direction!!!!! The SAE for me was a pain the the toosh! My exam was very very long! I had every subject for grades k-6! It sucked :)

I just applied for my certification through the state and because i have to have k-6 and ESOL it cost me 112 dollars!

Yeah my SAE is verrrry hard from what I've heard. Social Sciences covers 6 difference competencies (American and World History, Geography, Economics, Poli Sci, and even Psychology, Sociology and Anthropology!) Some of the girls I know have failed it numerous times. I just picked up a $60 prep book that I'm going to being reading/studying. Mine is in July but if I don't feel ready by then I'll just push the date back (taking it on the computer is wayyyy convienent). But I deinitely cannot fail it even ONCE. $75 is EXPENSIVE to have to re-take!!

If it means anything, I passed mine on the first try.

It asked a lot of specific questions, but I was able to get through it. I bought a book too, but I didn't really study it very much.

Thanks for the encouragement...though I would imagine that an Elementary level certification test is a little more broad since there are so many different subjects for you to have working knowledge of. This prep book is verrrrry detailed with a TON of historical information that I've never even seen...so it's in my best interest to study this as much as I can.
