I'm currently filled with disappointment...and fed up with friends who are flakes. If you say that you're going to do something, and you end up not being able to do it, what is the harm in making a simple courtesy phone call? I wasn't annoyed with the people who called me to cancel - but the majority of them didn't even do that! Hell, I was thankful that people called to let me know they wouldn't be coming. Just shows how high you're regarded I guess.

That's a real shame. Sorry to hear that it didn't go so well. Had I realized you were having a shindig before the evening of, I would've been glad to be decent company. :) On the bright side, it's times like these that help cull the herd of fake and sycophantic so-called friends. That may be harsh, but perhaps that's because I have shared your disappointment at least once before.

I'd say "better luck next time," but that would be rather presumptuous so soon after.
