When I was thirteen, my entire life was turned upside down. As a child, you revel in the fact that you can eat candy and cookies and all sorts of sweets with little repurcussion. Work has been totally lame this week. We had literally, no exaggeration, 50 messages on the appointment desk voicemail yesterday, and I definitely answered a good 20-30 calls on top of that, not to mention the two other girls at the front. So...life lately has been a lot of work, with some adventures on the weekend. I went White Water rafting 2 weeks ago, which was a blast. Rafted down the New River Gorge in Southern West Virginia with the boy, some friends, and some random folks, all led by a bearded, long haired, barefoot river guide. We camped, we drank, we had fun. Sometimes I am a great friend. Sometimes I am selfless.

This is not one of those times, and to all my friends, I am sorry. But sometimes being selfish is about survival, nothing else.

I know I've been awol lately, but it seems I only have so much energy during the week, and it doesn't allow for social interaction...No online chatting, no journaling, and don't even think about real social interaction. So, despite spending valentine's day in bed sick, I think I had the best Valentine's Day ever this year. I got a wonderful tangible gift (my very own fozzy bear is sitting next to me as I write), but it was more the actions of my valentine that made it such a wonderful day ( Read more... )

So, I am no longer unemployed. The job's got nothing to do with my major, or having a degree, but the pay is decent and it's not that far from home, and they know I'm still looking for a "real job" so I don't have to hide going on interviews ( Read more... )
