As I prefer not to spend my day tomorrow coughing and hacking on my 76 bowling students, I emailed out to all of the other teaching assistants and asked if anyone could cover one or more of my classes... and out of THIRTY people, not one of them emailed back letting me know that they could. I sent an email to our 250-person faculty asking if anyone could chaperone the Math Team to the JV State tournament because I'll be at a meeting, and nobody's offered, even though I promised to do two weeks of their lunch duty as payback. People suck.

That's utterly ridiculous.

Looks like I have to go in tomorrow - just got a nasty-gram from the bowling alley that said only an AUTHORIZED SUBSTITUTE can cover for me. How hard is it to watch a couple of undergrads bowl?

That's crazy. There's not a whole lot I wouldn't have done for two weeks of lunch duty.
