One of the students in my walking class kept missing classes and had crappy excuses blah blah and tried to get out of them blah blah blah.  She made it up to 5 absences (after 4, you fail), but she had a doctor's note, and then she forgot it, and then she was going to bring it next time, and then she brought two yadda yadda yadda.  I got an email ( Read more... )

What I've learned in grad school:
1.  Horses can't vomit.
2.  Rats can't vomit.

The most amazing part of this is that I learned it in two totally different classes AND both times, it was part of the lecture.

I'm right smack in the middle of doing my taxes... and I think it's rotten that I only get to deduct so much of my student loan interest because I'm single.  Maybe they should only make me pay that much in the first place.  I pay TWICE as much stupid interest than I'm allowed to deduct.  Ridiculous.  Also, I feel like my dog should count as a kid ( Read more... )

Someone is shooting off fireworks here.  That kind of makes me happy.
