Having quite recently been in rural Bangladesh where I was the first 'white' person seen by many there, and seen the importance of mobile phones to such communities, I can appreciate their place in your heart.

Mobile telephony is key in so many parts of the developing world, you're right--it is a lifeline.

I am preparing for a fairly busy 2 weeks ahead of me with lots of travel. But I am looking forward greatly to the photo workshop--that will be fun!

I've heard wonderful things about Colbert's exhibit, and the sample pictures I've seen from it are breathtaking. I just hope that it makes a stop somewhere closer...

But as long as you have to be busy, at least it sounds like it's all good stuff!
