Nice photos (as always!). Do I see Cary Grant up there? ;)

Yes indeed ;-)))

Didn't one of the villains fall to a nasty death off the nose of Lincoln? Or maybe Roosevelt . . .

Just wondering.

I think it was Martin Landau who took a tumble off Roosevelt's nose. It's been awhile since I've seen the film, but every time I see Mt Rushmore, it's all I can think about!

Thanks a lot for your nice words!

Yes, South Dakota was really beautiful.

Glad you enjoyed the Chicago picture as well, that was from last summer.

I must say that Mt. Rushmore for me is an exercise in American Socialist Realism.

Hundreds of thousands of years from now, anthropologists will look at this and wonder if it's part of the W.P.A.

No segue.

Tools are fun. I have a box of screwdrivers in varying sizes (down to small enough to fix my glasses), plus a good old ballpeen hammer. I put them in the same kind of box as my sewing supplies, because everyone needs to hang a picture or hem pants. Or, rip out shelves, spackle and find the right shade of mango.

WPA--oy vey!Well, shelves are gone, spackling has happened, more spackling today, new desk ordered, so things are moving.

Got paint chips too . . . and am running again!

All progresses . . . .

It's less dominating than it seems in pictures, from farther back.

It's utterly massive, but it does need perspective. One loses that there.

Have you been to Mt. Rushmore? It was actually my least favorite site, but the Badlands . . . now that'ss stunning!

It is worth seeing, for sure.

I have to find my pix of something you will enjoy, Carhenge.

I'll do that this week.

Glad you enjoyed the views of Mt. Rushmore!
