But one thing that's interesting. I took an online test a long time ago at findyourspot.com where you answer all these questions and it gives you a list of US cities that would best match where you should live. Little Rock made #4 on my list. Then again, Sacramento made #3 or so on the list and I'm not really into this city.
We drove through Little Rock (rather quickly I might add).. after a night of being chased by crack dealers and prostitutes with knives and guns in another city. .... What a really bad end to a gig that was. I hate Arkansas so bad (but I guess it keeps more of the trash out of Texas. we have our own major problems.).
All the anti-gay stuff did pass, unfortunately. What I am predicting/hoping to see in 2 years is another ballot on the measure.
We had something similar on the ballot before. I think it was the definition of marriage as being between a man and a woman. This time around, it was to include it on the state constitution. The first one (I forgot what year it was) passed by a larger majority than the one last night. Last night's was very very close. I have a lot of theories as to why Prop 8 passed, one of them being how the opponents campaigned way too late nor did they initially have the funds to compete with the big churches.
It's getting closer to allowing gays and lesbians to marry. You'll see. Late 70s, there was a ballot measure on whether gays should be allowed to teach. Before that, there were ballot measures on whether or not different races should get married. And yes, the churches used 'God's Will' reasoning to oppose mixed marriages.
Another interesting one was the decriminalization of marijuana in Massachusetts. Hopefully it will set an example for other states because it could potentially bring in TONS of tax money.
I did read about that. Definitely something big. Haha, I had to ask one of my co-workers how much an ounce of marijuana was because the ballot said anything less than an ounce and I had no clue as to how many joints one could get out of that.
I just hope they don't stop cracking down on people just because it is decriminalized. I believe the fine is something like $250, so it would bring in a lot of money if they do start charging people.

It will go back and forth for a little while, but reason will win out. It usually does, anyway.
