One more political statement and then off to other things. Thought I'd mention how the Prop for redistricting California passed by a slim margin. Don't be surprised if you start seeing California turn more conservative now because of it. California really only has a few liberal areas. The rest of it is conservative. Isn't San Diego now (nearing?) the largest city in CA population-wise, perhaps taking the 2nd spot away from San Francisco? It strikes me that the GOP has set up its CA headquarters there. OC headed south to the border can be very conservative; the Central Valley is that way, too, but I don't know that it has the numbers to swing the vote toward Prop 8 in the same way.

I so miss CA markets and food!!

When I wrote the above, I had two separate thoughts floating in my head. I didn't know that San Diego was that close in population to SF. I do know it still has very strong conservative ties though.

As for Prop 8, I think it just needs some time.
