Love the pictures! :)

I've been wanting to start drinking tea myself, I'm not sure where to start though

Hmm. So you are in Alaska now...do you have any upscale grocery stores or health-food stores? These place often have bulk bins of tea, which is a good way to sample many varieties without spending a lot of money. You should be able to buy one teaspoon at a time (to make one cup of tea) for only a few cents.

Another option is a brand called "Tao of Tea" which is based in Oregon and sold nationally. It is sold in a cylindrical container in the tea section of many grocery stores and is top-notch and not too pricey. A good bet is their Malty Assam which should run you ~$6 and last maybe 30 cups. A good deal, and I think anyone can enjoy the flavor of that one. Failing Tao of Tea, Twinnings is my reliable standby.

If you want to know too much about tea, don't hesitate to ask me! ^_^

Thanks for the advice, I'll be sure to try out Malty Assam from the Tao of Tea when I get a chance.
