Here's a plea for help from any science/language art majors or just teaching majors/teacher-friends of mine in general: please tell me that certification exams aren't as scary as they look on paper! I'm freaking here, and I know it's completely impossible for me to attempt to relearn all of the millions of things that I managed to puke up for the ( Read more... )

not sure about the elementary exams, but I passed my teacher exams with flying colors. I spent one afternoon studying the basics, but I knew that I could probably bs my way through the exam. It's not like you need to be perfect to pass -- just enough to show them you know your stuff. I do remember coming out of the exam thinking I didn't do so hot on my psych exam, but i ended up doing just fine. Everyone I know has passed them the first time around. But yes, they are expensive and really annoying. Oh - and don't take 3 in one day like I did - THAT was heinous. Best of luck!

And when you're down, just think of Ireland and reinact those dance moves from those boys at the club or just think about power hours and fire extinguishers! :) Miss you!

Mine were detestably easy. Half of the reading passages were texts I was already familiar with (a simple scene from Romeo and Juliet and a portion of an article I came across in three classes). There are people far worse off with test taking skills than thou. You'll do fine
