birthday weekend

manwhoreforhire is taking me to the Monterey area this weekend for my birthday. We plan to spend most of the weekend relaxing on the beach and eating good food. Does anyone have a good recommendation for places to eat? Anywhere in the area including Santa Cruz would be fantastic.

Pizza My Heart - best pizza evAr! It's on Pacific Ave in Santa Cruz.

I really like the Saturn Cafe, also on Pacific, but it's veggie, so I'm not sure you'd be so into it. :)

Ahem. They only have it on Saturday mornings though, so if you go Sunday they just have regular french toast. Go here. Eat. Enjoy. I will think of more later though. I love SC.

Pizza My Heart is certainly good, although Pleasure Point Pizza gives them a run for their money. Good sushi is Pink Godzilla or Sushi Garden. Cafe Cruz has really good food I've heard, although I haven't been there yet myself. If you're looking for something a little bit more upscale I'd recommend Pearl Alley Bistro or Shadowbrook (or for some really good, expensive french food, Ma Maison). I'm kinda over Saturn. Their prices have gotten way too high. Betty's Burgers is good though, or Jack's. 99 is okay, but they have a great selection of beer on tap. If you're looking for a breakfast place I'd highly recommend Walnut Ave Cafe or The Silver Spur. And then there's all the Mexican food..... Tortilla Flats, Palapas, Manuel's, or for just a good taqueria, Jalapeno's.
