For I would fain die a dry death...

Feb 02, 2006 19:17

I watched my fish die this morning.

It's hard to watch life expire, even if it's just the death throes of a little fish. Poor Percy lived up to his name as a fighting fish--he fought valiantly, but his little body stiffened up until he couldn't push his way up to breathe anymore.

Sigh.

that is sad.
last week i saw some tiny mice who had escaped their cages and were running along the window sill in a pet shop. they looked trapped behind a sign in the front window and i nearly killed me to think that maybe they'd die from lack of oxygen or food or water, being trapped like that. i even resolved to call the store in the morning to let them know about the poor critters.

i despise death. if i see it, i want to stop it.
ignorance and distance are truly blessings.

I'm so sorry to hear about Percy...

Every time a fish of mine dies, I get very sad.

I am sorry to hear about your little fish. Aww, that makes me sad. The first death I ever experienced in my life was my pet fish, Furly, and I seriously was crushed for weeks. It's sad to watch life exhaust from a being--even if it is a little, seemingly mindless, fish. Oh!--and to see it struggle to hold on just makes me want to cry! I guess I have an overly weak heart. Again, I am sorry.
