Ouch

You can tell you're not a very popular pastor when you send a letter of resignation to your congregation and their initial reactions are:
"Yay! Maybe I'll get to lead worship again!" (my mom) and
"Man. That means I'll have to take another picture [of whoever the new pastor ends up being]." (my dad)

Don't let the door hit you on the way out...

Aww, poor pastor. How long was he/she there for? What was so bad?

Well, he's a perfectly nice person, he's just very...left-brained, I guess. Very rigid, things have to be HIS way and he's always right. He asked my mom to step down as worship leader awhile ago because she pushed the envelope too much--trying to introduce new songs, trying to mix up the structure of 2 fast songs, 2 slow songs, 1 fast song--and that was just too much for him, he didn't like it, so of course no one else would like it, so it had to go. It's not that he's hated or anything, but I think it'll be a positive change for the church.

Ah, I see. There is a church out there that would appreciate his style, so it best for all.

I can see the pastor's point. Your mom is quite a rebel.
