Vacation highlights

Since a) vacations to the Midwest don't entail *doing* very much, and b) my father's a professional photographer, I didn't take a whole lot of pictures on our recent family vacay. That being said, I figured I'd post a few random ones for your enjoyment.

Ahhh, Mackinac. I'd like to stay in the Grand Hotel once just to say I've done it, but there's no way I'd shell out that much money for it. My parents went to the island in June, and they managed to sneak right up to the porch by way of some path through the woods. It was pretty much the highlight of their trip, apparently. ;) I really enjoy the atmosphere of the island, though. I took a bike ride around it one summer; it was a nice ride... and nice to see part of the island that isn't quite so touristy.

By the way... "vacations to the Midwest don't entail *doing* very much". Is that some sort of insult? ;-D

Well I guess I should add the caveat "MY family's vacations" to the midwest don't entail doing much. :) It's always solely for the purpose of seeing family, so it's basically just a lot of sitting and walking and eating. I've been to the Chicago area a bunch of times, but the only time I did anything "touristy" was when I was there for work.

My dad and my brother did the bike ride--I probably should have, but I was so hot already, I didn't feel like adding 8 miles of sweat to it, so I just shopped. :)

Yay! Now that I've friended you back, you should be good. Granted, I still don't have a lot of entries because I suck, and I never write, but hey, it's something. :)
