In line with my audit phase of my book project, and in collaboration with troyboy_bris I'm going to start posting some of my healthy activities so that we can keep track of each other. Today I had Clare and Richelle over for band, so I cooked up turkey chops (a lot cheaper than chicken) with a cranberry and red wine sauce, suede/pumpkin/potato/soy milk/"olive ( Read more... )

not to be picky - but wouldn't the lunch have been healthier if you had used butter instead of chemicals?????

I know what you mean, but I love the chemicals. Well, actually, it's more that I shouldn't have butter due to my problems with milk. It's working out which of the two is the lesser of two evils. I considered just doing olive oil.. I'll try that next time.

go for one of the "stronger" tasting olive oils (like cold pressed extra virgin), you should be able to get some yummy ones from northey street markets. You could always make your own herbal olive oil by stuffing your fave herbs into a bottle & drowning it in the oil. If you need fresh rosemary or lemongrass then let me know - both our plants have gone NUTS!!!!!

This can then be used as both a flavour and the oil.
