So I take it your foot has gotten better?

And the identity stuff takes a lot longer, in my experience.

Yes, yes. My foot spontaneously healed itself (actually, more healed with time and, dare I say it, rest). Only took about a week which was good. The physio I went to see did practically nothing for it (I think it was a confusing condition), but she gave me other good advice.

I'm not sure I can wait that long Re: identity. But I guess I don't really have much choice :)

I'm still trying to find myself, each experience you have in life opens your eyes to a bit more about yourself, you never stop "finding" yourself.

If you are happy in who you are then why should what others think of you have any iota of influence over how you live your life?

But am I really happy in who I am? There's probably a reason I'm on a never-ending quest to improve myself (i.e. be less bitchy, do more for others, stand up for myself).

then you are evolving into who you are meant to be, a journey, but you needn't take peoples opinions on board if they go against who you want to be, if those opinions are directed to what they want you to be
