I am not a patient person. I do not like to go about the "normal" way of interacting. The process takes too long. Why is it considered weird to just go up to a person and just say, "Hi! I think you're fascinating and I would like to get to know you better. If you're interested in pursuing a friendship, let's have coffee. If not, okay." I ( Read more... )

I'd be a little intimidated and maybe put-off by someone approaching me that way. I ususally go with approaching someone after class and telling them I thought there observation/comment/etc was really interesting. Then feel my way from there.

If I was a guy I'd probably think you were hitting on me (or if you were a guy) so I might take it differently.

it's funny that all the girls who responded think that if someone approached them in that manner, that the person approaching them was hitting on them, and if you were to approach someone that way the person who you were talking to would take it as being hit on. All of the guys seem interested by the approach, but don't seem to misconstrue my intentions. Another example of women thinking about it too much.

now the real question i think you are trying to get at is do you have the balls to go up to a random person that you've seen around in your classes or whatever and say that... somehow I think it's pretty dubious. but if you wish to call me a liar. I must have proof.
