what about thanksgiving?

I am not a big fan of large corporations, but sometimes the need for coffee overpowers my inner hippie and I pull over at the nearest Starbucks. This has been a long week, so the need for coffee has been high. Early this morning on my way to work I made a quick stop by Starbucks. I pulled to the empty parking lot and parked the car. When I went into work last Friday (11/3), the "seasonal" aisle, which was covered with Halloween stuff for the last month, was 90% Christmas. 5% was remaining Halloween candy that was marked down, and 5% still needed to be set up. Days like that make me extremely glad I work back in the pharmacy, so I can bitch about this kinda stuff without being a hypocrite. Still, we're likely only a decade away from having Christmas stuff up year-round. -_-

but just think ... if they didn't put out peppermint mochas until december, they would only be available for a month...and that would be sad! (not that i drink peppermint mochas...but I hear they are fantastic).

at least starbucks wasn't like target...who put out their christmas stuff BEFORE halloween. Thanksgiving is kind of a weird holiday anyway...because we're celebrating the pilgrams taking over the native american's land and then being like "well, I suppose we should break bread with them because we don't know how to grow food here". hrm.

oh, and FYI: the thought of a fruit salad frappuccino actually made my stomach turn. :)

peppermint mochas are in fact delicious, and most coffee shops actually carry the peppermint syrup year round so it is available any time for yummy consumption!

I love the snowflake cups, but it would be really cool if they did some with fall leaves or something. And I have to say that I had a white chocolate hazlenut latte at Nordstrom this morning and it was very fallish. Not sure how cranberry would be.

I experianced the same thing today with the drive thru in dallas.. except the whole town is doing it. Dear god if it doesn't end soon we could be celebrating christmas all year round!! oh no.. that will give mum a reason to listen to kenny g's christmas albums all year around.. I can only stand mom getting teary eyed over every song for about a month then it has to go!!
