Cost VS. Convenience

I'm going home for my mother's wedding and to visit everyone from June 3- June 11. I've looked into flying, cheapest ticket being $302 with 2.5 hour layover, next one $315 with no stops. Anyone that knows me knows what a cheap ass I am, I don't know if I can bear to pay that much to save a little time and effort on my part. Granted, I'm sure ( Read more... )

You must get great gas mileage. I paid 65 bucks for gas to get to Fort Smith arkansas, which is like 460 miles away. Then 65 back to Starkville. Almost had my tire blow out on the way back too. I'd opt for the flying option, unless your lil mousie is a quiet one that doesn't mind riding in cars for a long period of time.

You are going by yourself? Have you been in a car with an infant for a long period before? That's totally torture! Unless you go in the middle of the night, I'd fly. I know it sucks, I'm cheap too! But ... ugh I don't want to imagine trying to keep Gavin in the car that long by myself! At least you can hold him on the plane. Could your mom help pay some of it?

i'm cheap too.... i say drive.... once that week is over and you're back at home, you'll be glad you didn't spend the extra $230....

unless something happens like u get a flat tire or your car messes up while driving on the road by yourself with your son..... then that would really suck....

Taking a drive alone is bad enough, but with an infant is basically worse. You will make your visit much more enjoyable if you fly.

I had it all planned out and was going to drive and my parents offered to pay for my ticket for me, so we're flying! As it is rapidly approaching (Saturday) I'm SOOOOO glad we chose the air route!
