 Went to San Diego
Looked at a bazillion apartments
Figured out I need to learn to drive ASAP, I also have to get a car. There's no way around it.
Found an apartment we like... are currently dealing with trying to get a deposit in. Way more complicated than it should be. 
Regardless I'll be living in Ocean Beach, San Diego. Blocks from the beach.

My mom moved out here with my dad from California after they had dated for 8 months or something... and look how well that worked out! It's scary but I'm sure you'll be fine. You're going to one of the best climate areas in the country, so there's that huge plus. Good luck!!
