I am fairly sure it was taken out of context, but it still stung as if on purpose. MY father loves to read spy, and political novels. I knew he was not a major fan of Vampires, Zombies, and other things that go bump in the night. However, I never thought it would be used against me

It hurts, it's tough.. But people are stuck in their ways.

Should take it as a life lesson and build on it. He'll, even use it for some innocent revenge. Plan another book based loosely upon your life where the father reacts this way to the writing of a book because he was secretly a Van Helsingish vampire hunter in his youth. Just my thoughts :)

That's a pretty ugly thing for him to say... but just keep in mind that even if he isn't interested in being supportive, you have plenty of friends out here who very, very much want to see you succeed! And who love the hell out of supernatural books :)
