These words are my diary screamin' out loud...

Hey Kids,

I haven't talked about school much yet. Both my classes are going well. I have a paper and a test preparation both to do for tomorrow and I am nowhere, which is why I am posting in my livejournal, of course. : ' P

Latin is a wicked amount of work, which I knew it would be. The memorisation time outside of class is something I really still can't get a handle on. I desperately need to practice ALL the declension endings before the test tomorrow. I am not really worried though. I don't stress about that sort of thing. Luckily, I am super interested in the topic, so I really enjoy learning and doing the Latin. It's a ton of fun. And the prof is awesome (see quotes below for an example). Evan is enjoying it very much as well, and our enjoyment of it was demonstrated in our matching 100% grades for the first test. It's kinda a trip to be able to get 100% in something. Obviously that doesn't exist in my primary field of study.

Margaret Atwood is the other course I'm taking, in case there are some of you I haven't mentionned that to. It has been really interesting. I didn't really know that much about her before taking the class. I knew she was a good writer, and I knew she seemed pretty arrogant. Neither of those things has been wrong thus far. Often her writing skill seems to outweigh her pretentiousness, though, so it's not too bad. I did my last seminar of my undergraduate degree last week as well, which thankfully went well. It was on Atwood's book "Survival" and I basically took her to task for what I see as an unwillingness to take responsibility for the arguments she makes about canadian literature and canadian identity.

Recent amusing quotes, some anonymous :

"My garage has been tagged three times. people who do it don't seem to have a clue though. They always use water soluble paint, so that it takes me about 2 minutes to wash it off. I think if you're going to be a vandal, you might as well do it properly."
- Latin Prof. (read this in a light british accent)

"That would be less like a bath, and more like you and I having sex, with water."

"When I really like reading someone's critical articles, I always imagine them as young and hot. Then I'm a bit dissapointed when I find out they're old and icky."

As for drama, apparently my muse-girl was unaware of how I felt about her. That was a shock to me, 'cause I hadn't thought I was being subtle. I am pleased however, as it allowed for a wonderfully dramatic conversation about the affection, where I got to pour my heart out a bit, something those of you close to me know I can never get enough of doing. My only true desire on that front is that when she thinks of me, she'll smile. ("and that was all that I needed...")

I have been watching a lot of Grey's Anatomy, 'cause my mum bought the DVDs of Season 2.
And there is a new show this season that if you haven't seen it, you're doing yourself a disservice. It's called "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," and is written by Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing, A Few Good Men) who I just adore. The things he's involved in are always set with the perfect blend of comedy and drama. Basically, the show is about being behind the scenes of a live sketch comedy show. The leads are Bradley Whitford (Josh from The West Wing), Matthew Perry (duh) and Amanda Peet (The Whole Nine Yards).

Oh oh. On the computer gaming front, I picked up a copy of "Dreamfall: The Longest Journey," which, in case you are not up on the computer gaming, or more specifically the adventure gaming (and who is?) front, is the sequel to "The Longest Journey" which was, in my estimation, not only one of the best adventure games made recently (which is easy) but one of the best adventure games of all time. The sequel is not at all disappointing, despite it's conversion to 3D, which often spells death for an adventure game. The story is SO good and the atmosphere is so well set up that it keeps you interested and excited, and the puzzles are just the right level of difficult to be entertaining without irritation. I have been playing it far too much, given the time that I have. :'P

Before I forget! Open Mic Poetry this weekend! Be there! Roca Jack's, Corner of Portage and Overdale, Saturday Oct 7th, 8pm.
I doubt that I will have new stuff to read, but we shall see. :' )

Until Next Time,
I'm Ktwilight.
