Work is going spectacularly well, but I refuse to get complacent. At the beginning of this year things were so bad I had to ask for help from friends and family. Since doing the unspeakable in the translator world (lowering my prices! GASP!) I have been fully booked with interesting, fun work, and since then my reputation has grown and I have been ( Read more... )

I am happy you have worked yourself into a good position and look forward to having fun with music again. I wouldn't suggest sharing the magic with other people until you have had your run with it. Have Fun!

Heh, my early efforts are going to be pretty god-awful, I would imagine. My plan is to hire someone to teach me the world of digital music making (since I only know old-fashioned vinyl DJing), so only he or she and I will hear my stuff for a long time to come.

I was unclear. i meant to say that you should not share your secrets about the translation business because you would get too much competition. I am sure your music would be great.

Oh! I see - thanks! Yeah, my "sharing" tendency perhaps can go overboard sometimes. ;-)

sounds like things are going really well! :) very cool to hear that you've been able to find half-time work for full-time pay. and even more exciting to hear that you're planning to get creative again musically!

wish i could go to la goa with you guys. that'd be so much fun. no travel for me in my immediate future though. :( i've decided i definitely need more income. though i'm happy at the nursery, it simply doesn't provide enough income to do the other things that make me happy. hopefully in the not too distant future, i'll be able to make that happen.

K- you and I *must* do La Goa and Oscar de Rivera one day, some day. I will be returning to Madrid often for both. (Or perhaps traveling for Oscar, he does play around the world. Including, ahem, WMC...) So whenver you can and want to, know that I'm in. Of course in Madrid itself, they know how good they both are...a 10,0000 person event vs. a 1 person event, but they are both that good, so they are *always* on the same day. You could come for two Sundays! Hmmm....from Holland to Madrid to who knows where and back to Madrid?!

Anyway, where there's a will, there's a way. :-)
