Little by little we're getting our sea legs here, although being sick doesn't help. I've had a stomach thing for a week now, after a flu, fun fun. Hope this will be the end of it, soon at least.

Now for the wellness. The sky is perpetually cloud-covered, if memory serves correct. Take as many walks outside as possible to get some Vitamin D. I suspect there's so much more to solar radiation than we even realize now.

I should know this as I used to live in Chicago and people would get seriously depressed over the winter. I went to visit there after being away for 10 years and I could literally *feel* the gloom oozing out of people. Plus there is no color. Everything is shades of gray. Maybe one should invest in lots of color for their home if they live in a climate such as yours.
The FDA raised the minimum requirement of vitamin D from 400 IU to 1200 IU @ day. And that is the minimum to prevent rickets or scurvy or whatever it is you get without it. I do know a lack of D can cause aches and pains.
I should listen to my advise as I have a light box that someone gave me, but the bulb broke so I haven't tried it yet. Anyone else ever try one?

About the Dutch, I think you'll be able to find classes (probably free) for immigrants. Otherwise, try the universities (if there's one close by).
