Made it to our lovely second home exchange in Provence, France. What a contrast! From urban fascination to countryside paradise. From cool and humid days and nights to hot and dry days and chilly nights. As usual, France is simply *gorgeous*. I've got pics but can't find the camera cord so they'll have to wait.  Maya seems to be ready for toilet training (while we're on vacation, of course!). She's asking to use the potty, going into the bathroom while doing her business in the diaper, and accompanying us on our trips and saying "Adios!" to the toilet as we flush LOL. She can also take her pants on and off.

 Totally blown away by the town of Utrecht today.  Fortunately, so were the others.  It had a very warm, creative and inviting atmosphere. There was so much green and all the beauty and history of the other places...plus something more. Random moonbounce appeared in the park yesterday (that adults can get on too!) and was massive fun for Maya, Roland and I yesterday. Biked through more of Westerpark and found a couple of cool looking playgrounds and anice places for lunch or dinner. So far, so very good. Had a great time bicycling around Amsterdam today. Everything is just so *cute* here. The canals are very cool and it's flat enough not to be too difficult to ride for a long time. In the center it got pretty busy and we had to get off our bikes sometimes to manage the narrow streets full of people, bikes, motorcycles, and sometimes even cars. But ( Read more... )

 Got back on a bike for the first time today in years and enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. I felt secure in the bike paths here, and felt comfortable even though the bike seemed big for me.
