Oh! *flails* *blushes* Oh, no, it's all you! They're your characers! 'Wintering' is one of those stories that just stays with me. It's one of those stories that lives inside a person. As much as I loved the Santas and the Pooh Bear, it's really Michael and Jay--as characters, as people--that made me fall in love with them. So getting to write them was just amazing for me...I feel like I didn't write this story so much as Michael and Jay pulled it out me. Trying to write their need for connection and their fears of it--their need to move and have space balanced against their need to have a home was so scary and yet so fantastic. So I'm really, really, REALLY glad that this worked for you.
